Welcome Home!
INTRODUCTION
It seems that a majority of Christians struggle to truly identify with their “new identity in Christ”. Many do not feel the security that a member of the Royal Family of God should experience, regardless of life’s issues and circumstances. Others struggle to understand that God’s acceptance has little to do with what we do or do not do, so they are unsure of how God views them on a daily basis. Additionally, it seems like everyone is searching for the purpose or meaning of life. The answers cannot be discovered and pursued by simply reading the Bible to find the “general” purposes for life, and then striving to do the things that we feel will fulfill this need. If I, as child of God, am going to discover why God created me with a unique combination of natural skills/abilities, life experiences, and spiritual gifts, then I must spend time in the Presence of the only One who can answer this question—the only One who can provide the resources to succeed. Our Father God is the only One who can give us our “new identity”, make us feel secure and accepted, and reveal our individual assignment, our destiny!
Have you noticed that many contemporary approaches to living the “Christian” life have become quite complicated? I have often wondered why becoming a child of God is as easy as confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts, but then it seems rather difficult to live-out our lives with eternal significance. Why would our loving, merciful, and good Father make it so complicated? It doesn’t make sense, right? It should be simple, too, although not always easy. I encourage you to read on and discover that Jesus taught a simple approach to living and experiencing a life overflowing with love, peace, hope, and provision. Jesus didn’t teach programs, steps, or complicated requirements, but He did say, “…you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed”, so “do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own.” Maybe, it really is as simple as becoming like a little child and spending time in our Father’s Presence. -YOU & Our Father
